The standard gasoline engine is a 1.5-litre EcoBoost® with Auto Start-Stop Technology, offering up 180 horsepower and as low as 6.8 L/100 km on the highway.[1] If you need more power for towing, you can equip the Escape with an available 2.0-liter EcoBoost® engine and the Class II Trailer Tow Package. For more efficient options, go with the Escape Hybrid or Escape PHEV. The 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle Hybrid powertrain provides 5.4 L/100 km in the city and 6.3 L/100 km on the highway.[1] Taking efficiency even further is the Escape Plug-In Hybrid’s iVCT engine, which offers an impressive 2.2 L/100 km in the city and on the highway.[1] The gasoline and Hybrid models can be equipped with available All-Wheel Drive with AWD Disconnect, which will automatically turn off AWD when it’s not needed to help reduce drag and improve efficiency.
