From its sweeping mountain views to the beauty of its local fauna, Creston, British Columbia is a one-of-a-kind place to both visit and live. This town is tucked between the Purcell and Selkirk mountain ranges, giving it a natural beauty that can’t be ignored. And with its welcoming community and abundance of available activities, Creston will quickly feel like home. That’s why we here at AM Ford Sales are proud to serve this wonderful community.
The Ktunaxa Kinbasket first settled in Creston, using the area as a jumping-off point to fish and hunt the marshes that were created by the flooding of the Kootenay and Goat Rivers. In 1808, explorer David Thompson came through the area, which lead to the eventual construction of the Dewdney Trail, which attracted prospectors and miners.
It wasn’t until 1891 that Creston was officially settled. Over time, the area flourished with the addition of the Canadian Pacific and Great Northern Railways, bringing farmers and businesspeople. Now, Creston flourishes with a variety of industries finding home within its borders, including a strong arts community.
